Wow! Great job, Joe! Thanks so much for taking care of this and putting all of the music together. Phil’s band (or so he thought it was his!), “All Folked Up”, will live on through these recordings. What a blessing that you guys purchased the recording equipment not long ago and had the opportunity to record these few songs. What an awesome tribute to Phil and our family!
The link, Jake’s Tribute, is the song “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door” played at Phil’s funeral service. Phil sings the lead, plays lead guitar AND sings the harmonies, too.

Oh my gosh, Sue, I had no idea what Phil (and all of you) have been going through this past year. The last time I checked in his pressure wounds were just being a problem. I can’t express the compassion I feel for all of you, for him.
Nanette had been keeping my sister Kristen posted, but I’m not sure we’ve heard much from her since she lost her sister last year. Too much time since we’ve been in touch, I’m sorry about that.
From what I’ve read here, your family is an amazing, loving unit. That will help, to be sure. Just know that I love you and have no doubt that the cardinal was sent to ease your minds. We’ve had similar connections with my niece Sarah these past 3 years.
Take care of yourself, Love, Clarkie

This is great! Thanks!
Also …wanted to share yesterday’s magic of beautiful RED CARDINAL
….my dgtr has been struggling w/ some “stuff”…..struggling w/ her yesterday (not feeling very effective in helping her…) I looked out my kitchen window (a bit desperate) and there it was! – Beautiful one sitting on nearby branch working his magic…It’s like I was injected w/ strength and hope, I felt a great deal of relief…Thank you!

I had just heard of Phil’s passing and I wanted to pass on my condolences to your family. I remember when Phil was injured and I hoped for the best.
Phil use to paint for my mother and she not only was pleased with his work she talked about that personality he had. My best to you and your family and it has been impressive to see how you have rallied around Phil in his time of need.

OK, is it just me, or do many of you find yourselves going to this sight still? I don’t know what I think I will find now…I guess it was just part of my life for 2.5 years. Everyday I would look at PHILSFIGHT, to see if he wrote anything, to check in…and I’m still doing it…
knock-knock-knockin…
Peace…

Megan – my memory of Phil is so short, I was only able to meet him once, on July 4th, a year after his accident. But we had such a pleasant visit, comparing our thoughts about life and the future, my family was at that time beginning our journey with my husband’s fight with a brain tumor. I could feel the energy and love in your family and it has stayed with me. You all gave your best for him and he had to have felt blessed with your love.
I continue to pray for all of you, as I know there is a huge let-down after spending your every waking moment caring for someone like you did. But I can only believe that he and my husband are so much happier than all of us, in God’s light. These struggles have brought us all closer to God, and aware of our own relationship with Him. Phil and my husband have given us such an example of peace in that final journey.
God bless you all and I continue to follow Phil’s Fight – what an inspiration.
