Our plan for Phil’s Fight website is to keep it up and running so that anytime you are missing Phil, you can visit this site to write a message to him and the family. It will be a place to remember Phil through the pictures, music and his written words. We know we would miss the ability to communicate with Phil’s friends and extended family and would mostly miss hearing stories about how Phil touched your lives. So, we hope that you will check in on occasion and write a note. It’s going to be a tough road ahead with grief and sadness, so hopefully we can help each other through the tough times. Thanks for all of your prayers and support through Phil’s journey….

The Henry family remains in my daily prayers, and just remember God is always with you. You now have another ally in Heaven to turn to. We must trust that Phil has been opened to the blessings of Heaven and been given the mysteries of life that we all seek. Stay strong and find peace in Phil’s release from pain.
Much love and prayers, Kathy Puccetti

This website has been a gift in so many ways. It has served as a window when you wrote so eloquently about bedside moments with Phil. The entries you wrote during the last few days in particular allowed me to visit Phil’s bedside too. It has helped me process the loss. I am grateful for the example of family you have given us and for the opportunity to have known Phil.

I went back and read March 14th, Phil’s last entry…wow…for me it captured the essence of how I view him. Brutally honest with himself, tough and gracious, a head full of doubt yet always hopeful…anticipating good things but living in the moment, artful and eloquent but without arrogance. Always striving and reaching forward while struggling under the weight of his limitations, pre and post injury. Praying simple prayers: He would say, “Please in the morning and thank you in the evening.”
Dude…so soon? It’s not fair. But I can hear you saying, “Life’s not fair.” Thanks buddy for all you gave and for just being you…

Thank you for keeping this open for us all to share. It has become a part of all our lives and we can all share our thoughts of Phil.
So, just when you think you are having a bad day or life is just too tough…take it one day at a time, take a deep breath of the fresh air, give thanks for ALL you have and know that our angels like Phil and our heavenly Father are right there holding our hands and you’ll make it through the day….
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. — John 14:27

Our family has always seen our “Pops” as a butterfly & cousin Dwight is the dragonfly. It will be so special to see Phil in the beautiful red cardinal that lives in my yard.

I miss you Phil…. I miss you so much. I have been on auto pilot since Meg called me on December 31st and said you were in the hospital. The thought of not seeing your beautiful smile and talking about so many different things in both our lives is more than I can take at this time. Hearing your kind voice in the “song” today touched my soul. I love all of my “Henry” family, and I am here for you.

One of my favorite recent memories of Phil, was at a meeting after he had gotten his van. When someone raised their hand asking for a ride home, Phil jumped at the chance to offer them a ride. He was so grateful for all of the help that had been given him, he was anxious to have an opportunity to give something back.

THANK YOU for the YOUTUBE!! Loved it. Okay, does anyone know how we can get a copy of a CD of All Folked Up? and would it include this song? I would love to buy one & I’m sure others would as well. Plus, the funds could go to either the band, Phil’s expenses or a charity.
The funeral was very moving, very touching and I was honored to sit next to Joe a band member. Phil, you were amazing, you were everything so many of us inspire to be. We can only hope to be the kind, generous, loving, fun person you were to SO many people.
I think when Phil went Knockin on heavens doors…it was a glorious reunion for Phil to be of one whole body, to be free of hurt and pain.
…Phil’sfight is now all about the red cardinals we see as Phil’sflight into heaven.
Peace to you all~

hello all,
i am so sad.
my cousin phil henry passed away
at kobacher house.
he has had a tough few years and deserves a rest.
after the accident and a long recovery that left him without the use
of his legs,
he began to participate in some outdoor activities that he loved.
he was kayaking, water skiing and cycling.
just as he began to start a new life, he had health issues that kept
him bedridden.
this was so very hard on phil, a guy who loved the outdoors and sport.
his once fit and strong body was failing him.
he gave it the good fight.
i didn’t see phil as often as others but when i did he made me laugh !
he was always good fun…i still remember him, at age 4 or 5, jumping
out of the bathtub and running naked
down dunedin road after the ice cream truck ! ….there was no
stopping him.
most of you didn’t know my cousin phil.
but you would have liked him…everyone did.
we will all miss him.
goodbye ‘fuff’,
cousin ml

I have an MP3 version of the Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door song played at Saturday’s memorial service. If you would like to receive a copy, send me an e-mail at mocniakj@columbus.rr.com.
I plan to post other songs featuring Phil’s vocals on the web in the near future. I will put a link to them here when they are available for download. Thanks for your interest – Phil would have a big smile on his face knowing that his music was in demand.
